Travelling to Goose Fair
If you’re planning to go to the Nottingham Goose then getting organised in advance is a must. Although the event is free so you don’t need tickets it’s definitely one of the biggest Nottingham events of the year – and everyone wants to be there! This means that getting there, however easy it may be, will be busy. So planning your journey in advance and making sure you leave yourself plenty of time to get there is recommended.
There will be taxis operating in the area so you could leave it to chance or hail a black cab. However we thought we would share some transport options with you, so you can decide how to get there and get organised well in advance.
Travelling By Car
Please use the city centre car parks (including the Victoria Centre) or Park and Ride sites around the city. Continuous shuttle buses serve the fair, providing an excellent and easy service. These will be well signposted on all major roads into the city centre. They offer secure parking at a reasonable cost and will remain open until midnight for the duration of the fair
Event parking is for blue badge holders only, so if you are driving to park as closely as possible to Goose Fair then you’ll need to find street parking. There are a few streets to choose from nearby but remember that the event is likely to be busy and therefore spots are likely to be taken up quickly.
Travelling by Bus
There is a range of public transport to access the Goose Fair site.
Yellow, Brown, Purple and Lime NCT routes run to Mansfield Road at Forest Gate. They run very frequently (between 3 and 6 minutes on the weekends).
Trentbrenton also run services to the area.
Travelling by Tram
The tram stops right by the venue and so is a great option for getting to the fair without the need for driving into the area. They run regularly and you may even find that they have extra trams on for the event to cater for the number of people that are likely to want to travel one.

Popular Hotels in Nottingham
If you’re not local then you may want to look at hotels and make a staycation out of your visit. As there is no standard parking at the event, if you are travelling to Nottingham by car then booking a hotel that has parking could work out in your favour. The good news is that there plenty of hotels nearby, which means that whatever type of accommodation you’d like and no matter your budget – there will be something to suit you and your needs.
Popular hotel choices include the Crowne Plaza, The Mercure Sherwood Hotel and any of the Premier Inns nearby. All of these are less than a mile from the event grounds, so you should find getting to and from the event really easy.
